Education Transport
One of the objectives of RCT is to provide transport to people less able to use
public forms of transport or those who are socially excluded. Reasons for not
being able to use public transport can range from limited access, service not
available, insecurity, cost and cultural issues.
RCT has overcome some of these issues by providing a professional, safe,
affordable transport fleet run by members of the community who can be trusted
and are acceptable for people with cultural issues.
There is a regular service during school days taking children from Rochdale and
Oldham to the Rochdale Girls School.
In addition children from Rochdale and Bury are able to go to the Bolton Girls
School and some children from Rochdale regularly go to the Manchester Girls
Sixth Form School in Whalley Range.
The children are picked up from home and transported to schools. In the last
academic year (Sep 06 - July 07) the number of passenger trips just for school
children were 26,703.
All RCT staff and volunteers are CRB checked and trained to work with children.
Children have access to a home to school transport service, the parents have one
less thing to worry about and RCT is providing a specialised service for our
future generation.
